The poster session at the TOPRA Symposium is open to anyone undertaking research in regulatory affairs or any aspect of healthcare product development, who wishes to showcase their research to the regulatory affairs community.

Previous examples of poster topics include primary vigilance reporting introduced by the EU Medical Device Regulation, comparative evaluations of biosimilar development in different countries, and the impact of mobile apps on treatment choices.

SUBMIT ABSTRACT NOW

If your abstract submission is successful, you will need to send your completed poster to TOPRA for formal review. If your poster is accepted, it will then be displayed in the Symposium’s exhibition hall. The posters will also be displayed in our event app.

Schedule

  • Poster abstract deadline: Friday 12 July
  • Notice to successful applicants: Friday 26 July
  • Poster submission deadline: Friday 23 August

Conditions of entry

  • All posters must be provided in portrait format as both PDF and powerpoint files, with a maximum file size of 10 MB
  • They may be submitted in colour or black and white
  • The poster should present your individual research to the Symposium audience and must not promote your company or any services/products

We also offer the opportunity to submit a short video (3-5 minutes in length) introducing the poster to Symposium delegates which we would host on our dedicated app, alongside the abstract and PDF. An example of this type of video is available here. Please contact our meetings team to find out more about including a short video with your poster.

Student poster competition

There is also a poster competition for students in full-time education. If you wish to enter this, please indicate this when submitting the abstract of your poster. The author of the  poster considered to be the best by the independent judging panel of regulatory affairs experts will be awarded a prize of £200.

The judges may include TOPRA members, members of the TOPRA board and the Advisory panel. The winning posters will also be featured on the TOPRA website and in our internal member newsletter.

The event is intentionally cross-disciplinary, and you are being judged, in part, on your ability to represent your research to a broad audience who may not be experts in your field. You are unlikely to be judged by an academic from your own subject area so please bear this in mind when considering how to present your work.

It is not a requirement to attend the Symposium but if your poster is accepted, and you wish to attend, you are eligible for a discount from the full booking fee. Students in full-time education are eligible for a 50% discount and students in part-time education are eligible for a 25% discount. If you would like to attend, please contact our meetings team for more information.

Please note: the judges’ decision is final and the winner agrees that their name and photograph may be used in post-event publicity.
