Q: How did it feel to be nominated?
Obviously, it was a surprise but it was great to be nominated, especially because the work that I was nominated for took place during the pandemic. That was a very challenging time as we had to work with many people across different time zones and virtual collaboration was really important. So yes, it felt great to be nominated and recognised for my part in that.
Q: How did it feel when it was announced that you had won?
I remember being at the Awards ceremony and reading about all of the nominees and their stories in the programme, and thinking that all of them were amazing and deserve to win. But in the end, it was great to win and felt super humbling.
Q: What were your highlights from being part of Awards?
You end up reflecting a lot about yourself – you learn a bit about who you are and what you've achieved, and I think that's a very fruitful exercise. I learned a lot about myself just by going through the process.
My overall experience of the Awards was that it was really efficient and well organised, from the nomination itself right through to the ceremony and the social media coverage. It was clear that it's not the first time that you guys have done it!
Q: What were your highlights from the ceremony?
The ceremony itself was really well organised and it was an amazing venue. The people who attended were very friendly and experienced in their fields of work, so it was a great opportunity to meet them and learn a bit about what they do.
Q: What would you say to encourage people to nominate their colleagues?
I think it's really important to recognise good people who have done great work, so I can only recommend that more people make nominations for these Awards. I will definitely be thinking about who I can nominate.
