David is a past President of TOPRA and received the Life Time Achievement in 2019.
After a career in clinical and academic medicine, he spent 21 years as a senior regulator in the UK and Europe. He was Director of Licensing in MCA, CEO of the Medical Devices Agency and acting CEO of MHRA. He served as a long standing member of CPMP and CHMP and worked on secondment with the EMA and the EU Commission. From 2005 to 2024, he was Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Strategy, Corporate Policy and Patient Safety with Eisai and has chaired a range of key national and international Trade Association Committees
