Past Vice President, Regulatory Affairs - Celgene

As a Chartered Biologist, graduating with an Honours Degree in Biology in 1975, Chris spent his entire career in the pharmaceutical industry, and worked for 35 years in the field of regulatory affairs both in Europe and the US.

He joined Celgene in October 2009 as VP Regulatory Affairs, Americas. In this role, he led regulatory affairs activities at the headquarter sites in the USA, with responsibility for supporting global regulatory strategy, operations and regulatory interactions with the health authorities, including FDA, throughout the Americas.

Previously, he worked at Schering-Plough Corporation, combining the roles of Head of Regulatory Affairs, Europe, Executive Director of Schering-Plough Europe Ltd, and Global Regulatory Channel Head for Specialty Products, mainly supporting oncology, CNS and inflammatory/immunology therapeutic areas.

Prior to joining Schering-Plough he held various positions in regulatory affairs, including VP Regulatory Affairs (Europe) at AstraZeneca, VP Regulatory Regulatory Strategy & Liaison at Aventis, and Global Therapeutic Area Leader at Pfizer.

He has supported numerous pharmaceutical trade association activities such as EFPIA and PhRMA (previously a member of RACC). He was Chairman of TOPRA's predecessor body the British Institute of Regulatory Affairs and was a member of the leadership board for about 10 years and founder of the TOPRA North Americas Chapter.

Chris is now retired but remains an active member of TOPRA.
